My father-in-law passed away earlier this year and his final wishes was to have family and friends come up to his childhood summer home and to have his ashes spread over the lake. So they built a rocket and sent him off.

Memorial Day Images
Here are some images that I took over the years in "honor" of memorial day.
Remembering a great man
My father-in-law died earlier this year and I am helping my wife’s family find, scan and restore old images. Here is something that I have been working on tonight. The picture was is very bad shape as you can see. He is with his brother and some of the “trophies” from some of their hunting trips. First pass of the scanner
second pass of the scanner
Then i had to "painstakingly" paste them together.
Then i had to remove the scratches and missing pieces and correct the exposure.
moment in time 5-2-10
I particapated in the NY Times, Moment in time on May 2, 2010 at 11 AM, eastern standard time. here is the image that I decided to use
I took the image using my 30mm 1.4 mm lens. My first attempt at using it. I love my depth of field that was accomplished with this. The branch is acting like a barrier from me continuing.
Check out other photos that people have submitted.
