I went into Boston the day after the marathon. Not to capture any of the carnage from the previous day, to capture the spirit of the city of Boston. I had a very good friend and some family who thought I was a little crazy doing this. But if I stayed home and did nothing, the terrorists would have had another check mark off in there win column.
I took the Orange Line into Downtown Crossing and started from there. Whenever I go into Boston, I get to the subway station and look at the map and let it tell me where to start.
I think that I hit just about every major section of the city that day. That included some of the following areas. (not in order)
- Downtown Crossing
- Charles Circle
- City Hall Square
- North Station
- South Station
- Faneuil Hall
- Beacon Hill
- Boston Common
- Quincy Market
- Finical district
- Seaport Area
- Post Office Square
- Waterfront
I am sure I am missing some of the areas that I hit. I am going to either have to get an app for my phone that maps will keep track of my trip or get a GPS sensor for my camera.
Here are some of my favorite images from that day.
