O
On Friday, March 13, I made it down to one of my favorite places to take pictures in Boston, South Station. I have an ideal spot to stand, at the corner of Summer St and Atlantic Ave, and click away. I shot 666 images in about 90 minutes. I was exhausted after I took around 650 pictures, but I couldn't stop there. (Only because it was Friday the 13th)
I received just a little bit of resistance with my picture taking. Besides the people who hid their faces, which I do not count, I had one lady demanded that I delete her picture that I had just taken. I calmly explained that I did not have to because she had little or no expectation of priviicy in a public space. I also informed her that she was infringing on my First Amendment Right, and she growled and walked away.
The second person was more non-verbal. As he was walking towards me, he continued to take my picture with his cell phone. In my opinion, he was taking my picture because I was taking pictures. (Let that sink in for a minute) I said hello to him as he talked past me.
Because this street corner is a regular spot for me to shoot, I want to give my impression of the current situation. I saw about a third of the people that I usually see. I am guessing that was because of the Covid-19 Virus. (this was before the Shelter in Place order was given)
Any feedback would be much appreciated.
